Position Title: School Garden (Fruit & Vegetable) Attendant
Location: Legacy Academy and Drew Farms
Salary: $15/hr., 20 Hours per week
Reports to: School Garden Manager

In accordance with the Agreement between American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
The Detroit School Garden Collaborative is an agricultural project supported by the Detroit Public School’s Office of School Nutrition, (OSN). The program brings together the OSN and DPS’ Department of Science along with multiple community partners to increase access to healthy fruits and vegetables to the children of the City of Detroit. The OSN is seeking a Garden Attendant who will be responsible for the maintenance of the Detroit School Garden Collaborative gardens. This is a seasonal position.
If you are a current Detroit Public Schools Community District employee, you do not have to submit to a new security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of criminal background check.
In alignment with Michigan law, if you are hired to fill a position, you will be required to submit to a Detroit Public Schools Community District criminal background check. Information regarding required background checks will be shared at point of hire.
