Position Summary: The Senior Director of Parent Academy leads and oversees the District’s Parent Academy programming, development, recruitment, marketing, and evaluation. The Senior Director establishes and leads a catalogue of offerings for parents and families while growing internal and external relationships that provide parents a wide array of diverse, workshops, seminars and experiences. The Senior Director reviews and shares data and ensures parent input is part of the program design process. He or she manages the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) website and other social media engagement in alignment with the District’s broad communication efforts. The Senior Director assists with regular community outreach to educate and promote parent involvement in the District via face-to-face, door to door and virtual engagement including leading and supporting canvassing activities, as needed by the district, during regular work hours as well as evenings and weekends. This position requires the ability to periodically work an extended and/or flexible schedule to meet the needs of families, which includes evenings and weekends.

If you are a current Detroit Public Schools employee, presently employed with the district, you do not have to submit a fee related to obtaining the Detroit Public Schools security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of security clearance.
External Applicants
If you are hired to fill a vacant position, you will be required to submit a Detroit Public Schools security clearance. At point of offer to hire, you will be responsible for a non-refundable payment of $64.50 via Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover Card, cashier's check, or money order, payable to the DPSCD Police Department.
