In accordance with the Agreement between the Detroit Federation of Paraprofessionals, and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
Food Service Specialist monitors menu items that are prepared for students’ lunch. Food Service Specialist assist with preparation of menu items served to the students. They also communicate with assigned Area Manager which include menu items, student changes of dietary needs and departmental issues. As with all Office of School Nutrition staff, Food Service Specialist will provide professional services to students and staff. Food Service Specialist are responsible for maintaining and cleaning the kitchen area and food preparation areas at assigned location. Works to provide nutritional meals while following the federal and state guidelines for sanitary conditions as outlined by ServSafe training.

If you are a current Detroit Public Schools Community District employee, you do not have to submit to a new security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of criminal background check.
