Position Title: Program Associate I - Data Analyst, Research & Evaluation

Salary: $55,346 - $71,714 (annually)

In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
As a member of the DPSCD’s Research & Evaluation team, the Data Analyst will work with the Senior Director to support the implementation and monitoring of progress on the strategic plan, as well as support ongoing school and district data management and analytic support needs. The Data Analyst will be specifically responsible for key tasks associated with the ongoing management, analysis, and reporting of data associated with strategic plan metrics and other critical school and district-level performance and operations metrics. Data Analyst will also be significantly involved with helping to create and maintain aligned data management standards and systems within and across departments; supporting the design and implementation of improved data management, access, and reporting systems throughout the district; and helping to build strategic data capacity through supporting special projects tied to the district’s goals.
Retrieve, clean, merge, organize, analyze, and document large and/or complex datasets.
Create user-friendly dashboards and compelling reports that allow the district to understand progress, gaps and opportunities.
Responsive fulfillment of internal and external custom datasets & analysis.
Support the design and execution of data systems for key district initiatives such that the district is able to assess the effectiveness of its work and investments.
Participate in team data functions, including reviewing colleagues' analysis code, giving feedback, and sharing breakthroughs.
Implement project management routines that support teams in breaking down projects into key tasks with owners, developing timelines and shared expectations for work, and communicating progress with appropriate stakeholders.
Significantly support day-to-day operational management of processes for documenting, tracking, updating, reporting/visualizing, and otherwise ensuring delivery on tracking and reporting of all Strategic Plan metrics.
Provide analytic support on developing, planning, testing, & refining advanced predictive analytic models, tools and reports in support of better anticipating and addressing student, staff, and other critical needs in support of strategic plan priorities.
Support development and maintenance of internal & external (public-facing) resource tools and archives – including but not limited to: useful reference guides and resources, original publications and digital products (interactive visualizations, videos, blog posts, SM-shareable facts and statistics, etc.), curated regular publications with targeted content for targeted groups, other.
Help design systems, policies, and procedures to streamline core district functions, minimize duplication of efforts and redundancies, and ensure alignment with school needs.
Provide training, technical support, and direct consultative support across divisions.
Provide analytic and reporting support in including but not limited to querying, cleaning, merging, analyzing, and visualizing large and complex data sets to reveal movement trends.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director.
