Position Title: Noon Hour Aide
Location: Various (Elementary, Middle & High Schools)

Reports to: Principal and Area Manager

In accordance with the Agreement between the Detroit Federation of Paraprofessionals, Local 2350 and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Noon Hour Aides will monitor student activity while in the lunchroom. Works directly with the students during the lunch program. Noon Hour Aides will work alongside the kitchen staff to provide customer service to our students while addressing and resolving conflict during the lunch period.
- Must be 18 years old to apply
- Provide coverage in the lunchroom and Cafeteria during student lunch hours with minimum supervision.
- Monitor student activity in the lunchroom and lunchroom area, including standing and monitoring student’s entry and exit to the lunchroom.
- Respond to incidents appropriately, notify administrator, provide written report of incidents.
- Ensure students follow rules set forth by administrators.
- Demonstrate ability to work well with students.
- Assist with monitoring students during the lunch period
If you are a current Detroit Public Schools Community District employee, you do not have to submit to a new security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of criminal background check.
In alignment with Michigan law, if you are hired to fill a position, you will be required to submit to a Detroit Public Schools Community District criminal background check. Information regarding required background checks will be shared at point of hire.
