Salary: $39,825 – $63,648

Reports to: Project Manager – Engagement, Enrollment & Retention

In accordance with the agreement between the Organization of School Administrators (O.S.A.S.) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, Article 6.4, Promotion Procedure, the following vacancy is announced.  

Position Summary:

The Office of the Chief of Staff seeks a dynamic Enrollment Operations Coordinator to join the growing Enrollment Team. The Enrollment Operations Coordinator will play a critical role in growing enrollment in DPSCD schools and supporting families across Detroit. The Enrollment Operations Coordinator will support management of operations and logistics related to major enrollment initiatives and team operations. The Enrollment Operations Coordinator will also play a key role in development and implementation of enrollment processes that reduce barriers to families; this includes coordinating with and providing training to schools and other key District departments. Ideal candidates will have outstanding attention to detail, strong project management skills, and excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of operations or analytical experience, ideally in a non-profit or school. Experience with Student Information Systems is a plus.
  • Must possess bachelor’s degree.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Structured thinker, proficient at developing systems to track information and manage projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgment and think on your feet. Ability to learn quickly.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high customer service standards. Proven ability to effectively address the needs of families, school staff and district colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams.
  • Maintain a strict level of confidentiality as it relates to handling student information.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team committed to a new future for Detroit education.

Essential Functions

  • Implement enrollment and retention processes that reduce barriers and ensure that families have access to schools and resources that meet their families’ needs.
  • Coordinate with schools and key District departments to ensure that enrollment processes are implemented and aligned to other District systems (e.g. Student Information Systems).
  • Develop guidance documents and training resources to ensure that enrollment processes are implemented with fidelity; provide technical support to schools and District colleagues.
  • Manage essential operations and logistics for enrollment initiatives and team operations, including interfacing with vendors, managing inventories, and tracking project progress.
  • Develop systems and tools to support and track engagement with families, schools, and partner organizations.
  • Develop written communication for families, other external stakeholders, and schools to help them navigate the enrollment process; includes website content and internal briefings.
  • Compile and monitor data from engagement and enrollment and retention activities to support measurement of the team’s work.
  • Work with colleagues across the Enrollment team to think creatively about how best to engage and support existing and prospective families.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

 

Security Clearance:

Internal Applicants
