Position Summary:
As a member of the district’s Data Services team, the Business Intelligence Developer works with the Deputy Executive Director to deliver BI solutions and execute on data visualization tools on behalf of the District. The district currently relies on a set of dashboards to facilitate structured conversations around school performance. The BI developer will direct, design, and produce these dashboards. Collaborating closely with the data architect and ETL developer on the team, the BI developer will be responsible for bringing projects from structured data in a SQL database to a comprehensive solution.
The BI developer will serve as the technical visualization expert for the district, responsible for building top-tier analytical tools that will initially be school- and district-leader facing and expand to other school-based users. This role will be a great opportunity for exposure to the data trends within an urban school district representing over 50,000 students, and to build scalable solutions that support strategic decision-making and will be used by thousands of users across the District.

Security Clearance:
Internal Applicants
If you are a current Detroit Public Schools employee, presently employed with the district, you do not have to submit a fee related to obtaining the Detroit Public Schools security clearance, unless your new role requires a different type of security clearance.
External Applicants
If you are hired to fill a vacant position, you will be required to submit a Detroit Public Schools security clearance. At point of offer to hire, you will be responsible for a non-refundable payment of $64.50 via Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover Card, cashier's check, or money order, payable to the DPSCD Police Department.
