It is a special collaboration between Detroit Public School Community District and the University of Michigan, housed at the historic Marygrove College Campus. The high school program, entering its second year in 2020-21, is particularly designed to introduce students to the scope, rigor, and discipline of design thinking and engineering, and to explore how these and other academic disciplines can be leveraged to solve authentic, complex social problems and to advance justice in Detroit and beyond.

The school is also home to the Teaching School at Marygrove—a unique residency partnership between DPSCD and the University of Michigan to train and support aspiring and early career teachers. We are looking for successful and innovative teachers that are interested in joining the team of this special school. Applicants must be ready to think creatively about teaching and learning, work hard to support students to solve complex problems and to advance social justice, and care deeply about all students, their families and communities, and the city of Detroit.
