Position Summary:
As a key member of the Student Information Services (SIS) team, the Program Associate I – Systems Analyst is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the District’s Student Information System and related applications. This role ensures high data quality, supports innovative system enhancements, and delivers actionable insights to advance the District’s mission.
The Systems Analyst collaborates closely with schools and central office teams to design and implement effective data solutions, streamline operational processes, and resolve technical challenges. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with exceptional problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous learning to enhance system operations and contribute to the District’s strategic goals.
This position emphasizes cross-department collaboration to gather input and devise solutions that support stakeholders with varying technical expertise, ensuring the effective use of SIS tools and data for decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or technical or equivalent experience in information sciences, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights, fostering collaboration across teams with varying levels of technical expertise
Proficiency in one or more of the following: SQL, R, JavaScript, JQuery, or HTML/CSS
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Power BI for data analysis and visualization, with the ability to present insights in an accessible and impactful way
Experience managing applications and platforms integrated with large-scale databases, ensuring reliability and scalability
Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
Demonstrated ability and willingness to build relationships with school-based staff to understand and address operational challenges, ensuring solutions are practical and impactful
Preferred:
Experience with PowerSchool or other Student Information Systems.
Familiarity with District and school-level business processes that utilize the Student Information System
Knowledge of pupil accounting principles and practices.
Experience leading organizational change management strategies to support operational improvements and adoption of new tools and processes
Ability to document and manage system changes to ensure consistency, collaboration, and integrity
Ability to design customized, accessible, and actionable data solutions within the SIS and external applications
Essential Functions:
Collaboration and Stakeholder Support
Communicates complex system processes and solutions clearly and effectively, tailoring messages to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
Builds and maintains strong relationships with school and central office staff
Acts as a liaison and subject-matter expert, resolving tier 2 and tier 3 support tickets for SIS users
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute student data initiatives and ensure alignment with District goals
Data Quality and Process Improvements
Designs and implements processes to ensure high-quality data practices across the District
Encourages knowledge-sharing and support organizational improvement through detailed governance documentation
Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency and implement scalable improvements
Synthesizes business rules and priorities into actionable system enhancements to advance the strategic goals and mission of the District
System Management
Performs essential database administration tasks, such as managing system updates, user account configurations, and preparing the system for new school years
Develops, maintains, and enhances the Student Information System by implementing tools, customizing features, and ensuring data structures meet stakeholder needs
Creates and maintain accurate, user-friendly documents and templates (e.g., reports, letters, report cards, and transcripts) to support District and stakeholder requirements
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Information Systems
