In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
The Program Associate is a member of the ESE Information System Management team, which manages ESE Enrollment, PowerSchool Special Programs, Medicaid and Private/Parochial Services. The Program Associate will support school- based and Central Office staff via professional development, data analysis, system configuration/implementation, technical support, and reporting of data.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Knowledge of Special Education, preferred
2-4 years of experience working in software support
PowerSchool Special Programs and EDPlan experience preferred.
Reporting Services & Report Builder.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Critical thinking and problem solving.
Strong attention to detail and time management
Strong oral and written communication skills
Comfort explaining complex issues and solutions.
Ability to handle a heavy workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and schedule changes.
Excel (PivotTables, various functions like VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.)
Experience in the use of databases to structure information.
Experience in developing and providing individual and group training.
Ability to meet stringent timelines.
Consultation, training, group facilitation, and process skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Proficiency in using the Microsoft Windows desktop operating system.
Essential Functions:
Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify analytical requirements.
Produces reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
Test and implement all program changes in PowerSchool Special Programs
Review, organize, and recommend system changes and enhancements; and write program specifications.
Review systems changes and enhancements after implementation to ensure compliance with specifications.
Prepare and maintain end-user documentation and operational procedures on existing and new system changes/modifications.
Interpret results of data analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
Provide analysis, training, implementation, and leadership services to the end-users of the information systems.
Provide analysis, training, coordination, monitoring, and problem-solving services to end-users of information systems.
Performs business analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
Recommend, design, and implement solutions for functional, technical, service, or process issues.
Determine district needs, assisting them in automating new features and functions as needed.
Maintain knowledge of legal mandates, including reporting requirements, related to assigned focus areas.
Coordinate with the team to make all Federal, State, and County reporting changes and ensure submission.
Develop and conduct regular end-user training, and seminar sessions.
Assist the district in the preparation of specialized reports using reporting tools as needed.
Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, email and chat-based requests for assistance customers experiencing problems with software and other computer-related technologies.
Recognize related incidents and cause/effect incident relationships to derive, prioritize and implement problem resolution steps.¿
Create and analyze reports from varied sources for presentation to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
